  • A garden walk: the Deerwood Arboretum, 320 Deerwood Lane, has trails through more than 70 tree species, ponds and a wildflower meadow.
  • A hike: Smith Park’s trails and the grounds of Ravenswood Mansion, 1825 Wilson Pike.
  • A picnic: shelters at Smith, Granny White, River and Owl Creek parks can be reserved through the city’s reservation site.
  • Cheekwood Estate & Gardens, 1200 Forrest Park Drive in Nashville, about nine miles northwest: check its site for May hours and events.
