State report card
Tennessee gives every public school an A-F letter grade. The Department of Education says the grades are meant “to provide a snapshot of how each school performed during the previous academic year,” according to its school letter grades page. The grade combines four indicators, each scored from 1 to 5: student achievement, academic growth, growth of the highest-need students and, for high schools only, college and career readiness.
Brentwood High earned a B for 2024-25, the latest grades published, with an overall score of 4.2 out of 5 in the state’s letter grade file.
| Indicator | Score (1 to 5) |
|---|---|
| Achievement | 5 |
| Growth | 3 |
| Growth of highest-need students | 3 |
| College and career readiness | 5 |
| Overall success rate, all students, 2024-25 tests | 77.5% |
Brentwood High’s achievement and college and career readiness scores were the top mark of 5; its two growth scores, 3 each, pulled the overall grade to a B.
Spring 2026 TCAP tests (share of students who met or exceeded expectations, from the state’s 2026 school assessment file):
| Subject | Met or exceeded | Valid tests |
|---|---|---|
| English I | 82.8% | 355 |
| English II | 93.1% | 378 |
| Algebra I | 40.3% | 211 |
| Geometry | 75% | 300 |
| Algebra II | 78.4% | 343 |
| Biology | 80.9% | 356 |
| U.S. history | 49.1% | 108 |
- Graduation rate, class of 2025: 98.4% of a cohort of 425 students, in the state’s graduation rate file.
- ACT, 2024-25: average composite score 27.3; 89.2% of test takers scored 21 or higher, per the state ACT file.

Attendance zone and feeder schools
Check any address with the WCS zoned school finder (abbreviate the street type, leave the ZIP code blank) or on the district’s school zone maps. You must live in Williamson County to attend WCS. Out-of-zone requests open Feb. 4 and close April 15, and out-of-zone students do not get bus service.
Brentwood Middle feeds Brentwood High, and the Edmondson, Lipscomb and Scales elementary zones feed Brentwood Middle. The school’s own history page names the same four schools, and so do the WCS zone maps, as drawn in the 2023 board-approved boundaries published in the City of Franklin’s planning GIS. Inside the city, that takes in most of the west side, the area around Lipscomb Elementary on Concord Road and the northeast around Edmondson Pike; the Cool Springs corner near I-65 exit 69 is zoned for Franklin High instead. Zones follow streets, not city limits, so confirm any address with the zoned school finder. Our neighborhood guides name the zoned schools for each part of the city.
