Brentwood has no city trash service: you hire a private hauler. Brush pickup is monthly and free; bulk-item cleanup days Oct. 24 and 31.

The city of Brentwood does not collect household trash or recycling. Every home either hires a private hauler for curbside pickup or takes its trash to a Williamson County convenience center. What the city does collect, for free, is brush, leaves and grass clippings, once a month.

Curbside trash and recycling: choose a hauler
The city’s trash service page says residents “can choose from various private companies” and names Republic Services, Waste Management, GoRecycles and Brentwood Disposal. Brentwood Disposal’s website now trades as Action Disposal and has a street checker for its routes. Pickup day, cart size, recycling and holiday schedules are set by the company you hire, so check its own calendar.
The city suggests asking your HOA or a neighbor which hauler serves your street. Many Brentwood subdivisions use one company for the whole neighborhood.
Brush, leaves and grass clippings
The Brush Program runs year-round on residential streets with six grapple trucks. There is no fee.
How the schedule works. Every neighborhood has a color week. Week 1 is red, Week 2 blue, Week 3 yellow and Week 4 green, counted from the first full week of the month. Look up your week by street name or by subdivision. For October 2026 the city lists:
| Color | Week of |
|---|---|
| Red | Oct. 5-9 |
| Blue | Oct. 12-16 |
| Yellow | Oct. 19-23 |
| Green | Oct. 26-30 |
Crews started yellow routes early on Oct. 15 and will run them again from Monday, Oct. 19, the city said.
Put it out by Sunday evening of your week. Crews do not come back once they have passed your side of the street. If you miss them, wait for next month or take the brush to a convenience center.
The brush rules, in short:
- One pile, on your own property, no more than 10 feet behind the curb. Not under a tree or power line and not against a hydrant, mailbox or pole.
- Limbs no longer than 8 feet and no thicker than 6 inches.
- Leaves and grass clippings in brown paper bags only. Plastic bags are refused. If it rains, leave the bags at the curb.
- Keep parked cars at least 10 feet from the pile.
- Only brush you cut yourself, at a home you live in. Piles left by landscapers, tree services or other contractors are not collected; include hauling in the contractor’s price.
- No rocks, dirt, root balls, mulch, trash, lumber or construction material.
A pile that breaks a rule gets a door hanger on the mailbox flag explaining why. Christmas trees are collected from the day after Christmas until mid-January.
Bulk items: the fall cleanup days
The city takes large household items, such as furniture, electronics and equipment, on its spring and fall cleanup days, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. No liquids, sprays, paint, batteries, tires, chippings or hazardous materials. The fall 2026 dates, from the city’s events listing:
- Saturday, Oct. 17: Granny White Park, 610 Granny White Pike
- Saturday, Oct. 24: Tower Park, Heritage Way
- Saturday, Oct. 31: Granny White Park, 610 Granny White Pike
Questions: Public Works, 615-371-0080.
Convenience centers and the landfill
Williamson County runs free convenience centers for county residents. Since July 6, 2026, they are open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; closing time means you must be leaving. You need a physical Tennessee driver’s license showing a Williamson County address.
- Up to 3 cubic yards a day (about one level pickup load), from your primary residence, at one center.
- Brush no longer than 3 feet.
- Cardboard goes in the cardboard container only; the county no longer takes it as trash.
- Rental property counts as commercial and must go to the landfill.
The two closest to Brentwood:
- Nolensville Convenience Center, 1525 Owen Road, 615-776-2717. Trash, brush, construction debris, recycling, used motor and cooking oil, an attended Goodwill drop, a mattress collection site and electronics recycling (no flat-screen TVs).

The county landfill, 5750 Pinewood Road in Franklin, is open 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, with check-in ending at 3:15 p.m. It takes car batteries, latex paint, antifreeze and up to six tires per household a day. Since May 4, 2026, every load at the landfill is charged the county’s regular rates until Jan. 2, 2027. The convenience centers stay free.
Holiday closures
The county closes the landfill and every convenience center on these days for the rest of 2026:

| Christmas Eve | Thursday, Dec. 24 |
| Christmas Day | Friday, Dec. 25 |
| New Year’s Day | Friday, Jan. 1, 2027 |
Curbside holiday delays depend on your hauler. Brush crews work out of the Service Center, which is closed for most federal holidays.
