Trash pickup

Brentwood does not collect household trash; each home hires a private hauler, so a Labor Day delay is up to your company. Check its website or holiday email. The county’s convenience centers reopen Tuesday. See our trash and recycling guide.

Things to do on the long weekend

  • The last days of the pool season. In 2026 the county’s Summer Splash Pass for its outdoor pools and splash parks ran through Sept. 11; check the county’s pools page for 2027 dates and Labor Day hours at the Brentwood Splash Park, 920 Heritage Way.
  • A hike. Smith Park has more than six miles of trails; Radnor Lake State Park, just north of Brentwood, fills its marked parking spaces fast on nice days.
  • A picnic. River Park, Granny White Park and Owl Creek Park have shelters you can reserve through the city’s reservation site.
  • Football. Friday night games that weekend are on our Friday night football page.

More ideas: free things to do and walking and biking trails.
