Brentwood has no old Main Street. Its gathering place is Hill Center Brentwood, the walkable shopping and dining center at Franklin Road and Maryland Way, and the Maryland Farms office district that wraps around it. Between them they hold a dozen places to eat, the REI and lululemon stores, a county tennis center and a greenway that, in a city commissioner’s words, lets people walk or bike to a destination.
