Thanksgiving in Brentwood 2026: turkey trot, dinners, what's open

Thanksgiving is Thursday, Nov. 26, 2026, and Williamson County Schools are out the whole week, Nov. 23-27. Here is what is happening, what is closed and what changes for trash.

Thanksgiving morning: the Franklin Turkey Trot

The 27th Franklin Turkey Trot, benefiting GraceWorks, starts and finishes at 5000 Meridian Blvd. in Cool Springs, just south of Brentwood, and draws more than 4,700 runners and walkers, the organizer says. The money helps GraceWorks provide food, shelter and support services to neighbors in need.

• 6:15 a.m.: race-day registration opens
• 7 a.m.: 10K (run only)
• 8 a.m.: 5K run and walk
• 9 a.m.: Kids’ Turkey Chase
• 9:30 a.m.: course cleared by the City of Franklin

Register, and find packet pickup, parking and course maps, on the race page or at GraceWorks. Teams of four or more adults get a discount.

Thanksgiving dinner out

• Mere Bulles, 5201 Maryland Way, has posted a Thanksgiving menu (PDF): a choice of prime rib, roast turkey with cornbread dressing, salmon or a vegetarian spaghetti squash primavera, plus dessert, with children’s and senior pricing. Reservations through the restaurant; call 615-467-1945.

At the library before the holiday

• Adult Cooking Class: Thanksgiving Appetizer Swap, noon Tuesday, Nov. 10. Bring and sample appetizers for the holiday table.
• Teen Friendsgiving, 5 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24. Board games and Thanksgiving crafts for teens.

Trash pickup

Brentwood does not collect household trash: each home hires a private hauler, so the holiday schedule is your hauler’s. Check its website or the email it sends before the holiday. The county landfill and every convenience center are closed on Thanksgiving Day. More in our trash and recycling guide.
